REFLECTION

• What have I learnt in this module?
Throughout this module, I discovered a lot about design principles. At first, I wasn't sure much about the design elements in design principles; I assumed they were unimportant to the design. However, after further research, it is clear that design principles are vital for the designs we make. The elements I studied in design principles were Gestalt, contrast, movement, balance, and etc. This module allows me to be more efficient in developing work, resulting in more visually appealing work.

• What did I enjoy the most?
What I enjoy most about this lesson is improvising Andy Warhol's artwork since it allows me to think creatively and imaginatively. I also enjoy being able to visualize the messages I want to convey through the improvisation of Andy Warhol's artwork. I can also learn new digitizing processes, such as duotone, for the media I apply. This improves my understanding of the digitizing approaches offered by the media I work with.

• What did I not enjoy the most?
The first task, which was doing research on design principles . In my opinion, it was less interesting because the assignment was more theoretical than practical, causing me to be bored while researching the definition of design principles. I also had trouble thinking about a sketch for an improvisation on Andy Warhol's artwork. At first, I struggled to decide which elements of his work could be improved and what concept should be employed, but with some research and support, I was eventually able to complete the sketch fast.

• What have I learnt about myself through this module?
What I learned about myself during this module is that I have a deeper understanding of how I turn finished work into something new. Learning design concepts helped me become more conscious of my artistic preferences. Pop art that was used by Andy Warhol, in my opinion, is no longer only about aesthetics; it is also a social critique. This experience improved my critical thinking skills and increased my awareness of the power of design in art.

• What has changed and what has not in my learning journey?
What has changed in my learning process is that I think more critically and conduct more research before executing a design. At first, I liked to design that my heart desired, but with the help of this module, before executing, I like to conduct research on elements that can be used in my design to make my work more interesting, as well as research the background of the references that I use, such as "What is the story of this reference?" Additionally, "What is the message in the reference?" What hasn't changed is that I like to overthink my own work, such as "Can I complete this assignment well?" "Is my design lacking?" But I am slowly changing my thinking to be even better.

• What are my aspirations?
I hope that by using this module in the future, I will be able to design more efficiently, resulting in better work that the audience will enjoyed.
